Andrews, Ethan Allen

Ethan Allen Andrews (d. 1858), a native of Connecticut, graduated with first honors from Yale in 1809. He taught Greek and Latin at the University of North Carolina from 1822-28, then returned to New Haven, CT, where he established the New Haven Young Ladies' Institute. He also taught in Boston. In 1839 he returned to his father's home in New Britain, CT, and spent the rest of his life writing books for students of Latin (Battle 1:319).
